Here's a picture I took last night of the Eskimo Nebula, NGC 2392, aka the Clownface Nebula, aka Levy 18, aka Caldwell 39. This is a magnitude 9.2 planetary nebula in Gemini.
I still have a lot to learn about image processing, both in MaximDL and Photoshop. The image is a combination of 3 to 4 each of 25-second exposures in red, green, and blue, as well as clear filters. The color balance is off but that just means I have room for improvement. Life would be no fun if there was nothing to be done better than it already has been done.
Stopped by Starizona for a bit of star-partying tonight. Mostly a social visit although I did get a chance to take a look at Saturn through Dean's big refractor, and Mars, M79, and M44 through a C8. Hope it stays clear as we are hoping to do an all-nighter star party at Las Cienegas tomorrow night.
