01/14/2006 At Least There's SLOOH

Went out to get the mail at about 9 p.m. and surprise, the sky was clear! Full moon, the bunny in the moon was looking smart. So, I went in and got my supplies to head out for some photon collection. Incredibly, it was cloudy! Less than 5 minutes had passed. This is certainly not normal for Tucson. But it has been quite cloudy lately and they say a storm is moving in.
Feeling dejected after getting my hopes up, I came in and decided to log in to SLOOH. I feel a bit better now after viewing a few "missions", including supernova SN2005ip, open cluster M50, and spiral galaxy NGC 2997.
I sure hope that I can someday achieve some similar images to what I see on SLOOH. The telescopes they use for high mag are the same size as mine (of course they do have better skies).
